About
MannKidwell has been serving the Richmond community since 1950, when T.R. Mann founded Mann Shade Company specializing in window shades. In 1967, the business became MannKidwell Shade Corporation under Andrew Kidwell, Jr. His son, Andrew Kidwell III, joined in 1993 and later purchased the company in 1997, continuing its long-standing reputation for exceptional service and craftsmanship. In 2005, MannKidwell expanded into its current showroom on West Broad Street, offering full-size, interactive displays for clients and industry professionals alike. The company was also recognized as a “Legacy Company with Gold Status” by the Henrico Economic Development Authority.
In 2025, MannKidwell entered its next chapter under the ownership of Blake and Hannah Bogese. With strong roots in the Richmond area, they are proud to continue the company’s legacy as a family-owned business, carrying forward the same commitment to care, integrity, and personalized service that has defined MannKidwell for generations.
Today, MannKidwell offers a full range of custom window treatments, including shutters, blinds, shades, and commercial solutions. Our experienced team provides expert guidance from selection to installation, with skilled, in-house installers who take pride in their craftsmanship and treat every home with care.
We are also committed to thoughtful, environmentally conscious practices. From offering energy-efficient products to working with brands that use sustainable materials and meet indoor air quality standards, we strive to help our clients create spaces that are both beautiful and responsible.
